Trafficking Risk Alert
An AIDBIPOC public awareness alert issued when credible indicators suggest trafficking vulnerability — preventative in nature and distinct from the Jade Alert, which is used when trafficking indicators are more firmly established.
What This Means
The Trafficking Risk Alert is preventative — issued when credible risk factors suggest trafficking vulnerability even before indicators are confirmed.
This alert is distinct from the Jade Alert. The Jade Alert is used when trafficking indicators are more established; the Trafficking Risk Alert signals early-stage concern requiring immediate community awareness.
Early visibility can be the difference between prevention and harm. Community awareness at this stage saves lives.
Who This Alert Covers
Issued for missing persons from marginalized communities where credible trafficking vulnerability indicators are present.
How You Can Help
Share immediately. At this alert level, speed matters. Wider visibility early can prevent harm before it escalates.
Know the warning signs. Trafficking warning signs include: sudden changes in behavior or appearance, new relationships with older individuals, signs of control or fear, unexplained gifts or money.
Do not confront suspected traffickers. Report concerns to the AIDBIPOC tip line or law enforcement immediately. Safety first — always.
